Passing Judgment: David Lachapelle

The gays were out in droves last night for the premiere of the new Harvey Milk biopic, Milk, and among the hordes of 'mos was the beloved envelope pusher, photographer David Lachapelle. With his boyfriend, Drew Kuhse, in tow, both men were rather eye-catching in their shiny suits but their ensembles came off a little zoot suit-y for our tastes, especially since the costume-ish look was even more pronounced due to premier's rather casual feel -- the mayor of San Francisco, Gavin Newsom, wore jeans!

Nevertheless, that's the beauty of being gay! We can wear whatever we want, whenever we want and to whatever event-honoring-gays we want. In fact, Kushe looked kind of cute with his pink tie splashing up against his dark suit. Even Lachapelle himself wouldn't seem quite so Lou Bega if he'd lose the hat and the silver chain. But then he just wouldn't be David Lachapelle if he played it safe, right?
