Quickies: The biggest mall in the world, buying up models and more

Dubai_hPhoto: thedubaimall.com

Dubai has opened the largest mall in the world. Inside among the designer label stores you'll also find a 10-million-liter aquarium, an amusement park and an ice skating rink. [Material Interest]

We know gays love their female models (because we want to be one), but would you ever invest in one?
One company, Beauty Holding, is allowing consumers to buy a stake in a model and you'll get a share of her earnings for the next year. If we can't get a piece of Jessia Stam, we're hardly interested. [Urban Daddy]

Are high-end labels immune to the woes of the economy? It turns out they're not, and some are looking for new investors. So if you've got a few bucks left over from your Jessica Stam purchase you know where to put them. [The Cut] via [WWD]

The H&M Commes des Garcon line dropped in Tokyo and it was Japanese mayhem.
H&M made a video documenting the uproar. Witness the carnage. [The Cut]

Smell this: Mark Eco is debuting fragrances for men and women, with the men's scent hitting shelves as early as next fall. [WWD]

Turns out Bergamot is a natural deodorant. So spray it on and try to avoid those unsightly pit stains. [BellaSugar]

Quckies: Murakami wraps LV, Hermès' new Smart Car and more

Takashi Murakami (pictured) will wrap the 5th avenue Louis Vuitton store in signature print for the holidays. Does this label need any more gimmicks? Sure, why not? [WWD]

Hermès unveiled it's new Smart Car. The Fortwo édition Toile cars, manufactured by the Como group, are available in 10 colors including gold, indigo and the luxury house’s signature orange and the car is outfitted in Hermès leather. At $48,564 it's a bargain, and you can always scrap the interior for a new jacket or gloves. [WWD]

Sarah Jessica Parker will narrate the new Metropolitan Museum of Art’s audio guide tour on “Costume: The Art of Dress.” And Sex and the City continues it's inescapable domination of all things fashion, and all things Sarah Jessica Parker. [WWD]

Want every piece from the H&M Commes des Garcon line? Too bad, they're imposing a two garment limit per customer. Sharpen your nails, ladies. [The Cut]

A little style advice from Alan Flusser. And he's not afraid to sartorial bitch slap offenders. [Men.style]

Open for Business: MCM flagship in New York City's The Plaza Hotel. Also setting up shop in The Plaza? Seize sur Vingt in their new 750 square-foot outpost.

Quickies: Lagerfeld comes to America, the mysterious Margiela and more

Attention: Karl Lagerfeld is coming to America.
The uber-designer has just purchased a a six-bedroom, 1840 landmark building on an island in Lake Champlain, Vermont, which he clams is "very Emily Dickinson like" -- i.e. reclusive and a little creepy. Perfect! [WWD]

Though he rarely speaks and flitters off at the flash of a camera bulb, Martin Margiela is hardly elusive enough to escape the New York Times. Eric Wilson sinks his teeth into the controversy surrounding Margiela's rumored departure from fashion and manages to materialize the invisible man.  [NYT]

French actor Andy Gillet is lending his mug for the Kenzo Power fragrance for men.
Well, enchanté monsieur... [Now Smell This]

We're all itching to get our hands on the new Comme des Garcon capsule collection from H&M, so here's a list of all the locations that will be selling it. Better start camping out now. [Nitrolicious]

It's fall, so time to shoulder up some new baggage.  As if gay men need any more than we already have... [Refinery 29]

In quite possibly the most exciting news of the morning—yeah, it's still early—H&M announced today that Comme des Garçons' Rei Kawakubo will guest design a limited edition collection that will debut in November. The Japanese designer, who is celebrated for constantly her experimental approach to fashion and challenging the hardwired rules (skirts for men, anyone?), will design a line for men, women and children—including accessories and a unisex fragrance.

Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf and Roberto Cavalli have all created lines for the cheap-chic retailer and their collections sold out in a matter of hours.

The line will launch in Japan to coincide with the opening of H&M's newest outpost in Tokyo before appearing in stores worldwide. I can hear the sound of stampeding fashion-crazed queens already.
