Varvatos to Show in Milan; Models Star in Fall Ads; Richie Rich for Hot Topic; Chanel Gets Fly; The Coppolas do Vuitton

80980944 John Varvatos will show his Spring 2009 Collection in Milan. He's probably just tired of everyone bitching about taking over the CBGB's space and turning it into a museum of the East Village's gentrification.  [FWD]

Here's a shocker: Designers are trading in celebrity faces and choosing *actual* models for their ad campaigns this fall. Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Prada, Versace, YSL, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Escada will all feature catwalking waifs in their ads. Perhaps people are tired of celebrities? or maybe they just got too expensive? or maybe it they are fed up that celebrities can't fit in sample sizes. After all, when John Travolta is the face of your watch brand, you know you're scraping the bottom of the barrel. [FWD]

Richie Rich will launch a line for Hot Topic called Celebutante.  But his BFF and Heatherette partner in crime Traver is not part of the project. "He didn't want to do it," says Richie. Is this another sign of the Heatherette apocalypse? [Fashionista]

Francis Ford Coppola and daughter Sofia star in Louis Vuitton's latest ad campaign. Wait, what happened to no celebrities? [The Cut]

Heatherette Calling it Quits?

The New York Daily News is reporting that downtown fashion label Heatherette, the glittery hot-tranny-mess lovechild of Richie Rich and Traver Rains, has thrown in the bedazzled towel. According to the story, Rich and Rains have gone separate ways.

Rich, who has reportedly started a solo line called "Rox and Riley" after his dogs, allegedly wants to move to LA to pursue music and television opportunities while writing a book about club kids (a la Party Monster). A source told the Daily News that Rains "can't deal with Richie anymore."

While Heatherette experienced a bit of a financial hiccup at the beginning of the year and pulled out of Fashion Week, things appeared back on track with the launch of their makeup collection in collaboration with M.A.C Cosmetics just last month.

What is Fashion Week without the circus and stampede of trannies, celebrities and supermodels that is Heatherette's show? Say it ain't so, Richie and Traver! Comfort us and tell us this is all a bunch of lies and we won't have to live without sequins, glitter and pancake makeup!

In times of crisis like this, it's best to ask: What would Amanda Lepore do?

Heatherette's Richie Rich and Traver Rains know how to party. As New York's favorite club kids and mainstays of the club scene, their names have become synonymous with over-the-top, candy-coated and bedazzled glamour. To celebrate the kick off of Heatherette's limited edition collection of makeup created in collaboration with M.A.C cosmetics, the duo threw a debaucherous party at Kiss n' Fly in Manhattan with a live performance by Pharrell’s latest protégé Teyana Taylor. And we've got the photos to prove it!

Heatherette reschedules their Fashion Week show and swaps locations to avoid a conflict with Condé Nast's Fashion Rocks event that takes place at the same time. Will Lily Allen walk the Heatherette runway alongside Amanda Lepore? Oh the rumors are flying! [Fashionista]

Some 40,000 revelers descended on Vienna this weekend for the 15th annual Life Ball, a massive glam benefit for AIDS organizations. Eventually a lucky 4,000 escaped inside for a private-ish party.
